Alternative http servers

The majority of Elxis powered web sites run under the Apache HTTP web server. Some other, under Windows operating system, use the Internet Information Services (IIS) web server. But there are even more good options out there. Here is a comparison list of web servers from the wikipedia web site. We have separate some of them that looks like they should run Elxis CMS without problems. We have not tested all of them, we list them mostly for experimental/test purposes.

Abyss Web Server

There are two versions of the Abyss Web Server: X1 (freeware) and X2(commercial).

LightSpeed Web Server

This is commercial Web Server developed by Lite Speed technologies. Lite Speed technologies claims that this solution is up to 6 times faster than Appache. It is able to read Apache configuration, so it may be used as Apache replacement with most popular Hosting panels (cPanel, Plesk, etc). See the full list of features.

Lighttpd web server

This is very light, free, yet very powerful web server, used by famous sites like YouTube, mininova, isoHunt, etc...
